I did a quick search:
Freely translated; Riaghladair Alba would be Guardian of Scotland
A search on the wiki returns William Wallace, Robert Bruce and John Red Comyn as Riaghladair Alba. This is confirmed on wikipedia

The literal translation would be governor of Scotland. As Alba is the Scottish Gaelic name for Scotland.
And riaghladair is Governor, as Toqtamish posted.

They would act as the political ruler of Scotland during an Interregnum.
In simple English: Guardians of Scotland ruled as king when the monarchy had no king.

I also found a baneret tactica, I had long forgotten. (time for some good reading)

thanks guys I finding lots of cool stuff reading through the wiki files ;)

I putting together the Exillis world for a RPG campaign centered around the wars of the Barons so that the player characters will have to fight table top battles at certain stages of the Role playing campaign

there is some interesting story's like the return of king Arthur and the knights of the round table it would be so cool when that day comes to see them on the battle field
