To upload a file on the Player Content Wiki, you must log in first, then you'll see the "Upload file" link appear in the toolbox on the left part of the Wiki.

If you are already logged in, you can follow this link:
Upload file

Use the form to upload files.

To include a file in a page, use a link in one of the following forms:

Maximum file size: 256 MB
Permitted file types: png, gif, jpg, jpeg.

* [[File:Name.jpg]] to use the full version of the file
* [[File:Name.png|200px|thumb|left|alt text]] to use a 200 pixel wide rendition in a box in the left margin with 'alt text' as description
* [[Media:Name.ogg]] for directly linking to the file without displaying the file

Now the Wiki page:
Creating a new page

To create a new page in the encyclopedia, type the following in your naviguation bar:
http://ex-illis.com/wikipl/YOUR_PAGE_NAME

... in which YOUR_PAGE_NAME is, of course, replaced with the name of the page you wish to use. For example, if you wish your page to be called "The battle of the silent moon", you would need to write:
http://ex-illis.com/wikipl/The battle of the silent moon.

If the page name is free, you will see a "Create" tab at the top of the screen. Click on this and start typing!

Every page created needs to be linked to a category for ease of browsing. To do so, simply add the text "[[Category:CATEGORY_NAME]]" at the bottom of the page. The different category names you can use are:
* Showcase_Full_Armies
* Showcase_William_Wallace
* Showcase_Decurion
* Showcase_Dismounted_Baneret
* Showcase_Knight_Baneret
* Showcase_Marrenne
* Showcase_Arbalestiers
* Showcase_Billmen
* Showcase_Franc_Chevalers
* Showcase_Hobelars
* Showcase_Longbowmen
* Showcase_Mangonel
* Showcase_Serjants_Swords
* Showcase_Serjants_Spears
* Showcase_Soffrances
* Showcase_Vileins
* Showcase_Ympes
* Showcase_Dominicani
* Showcase_Minores
* Showcase_Lucifer
* Showcase_Evocati
* Showcase_Nephilim

i get this message:

You do not have permission to do that, for the following reason:
The action you have requested is limited to users in the group: Administrators.

I think I've got a picture up now how do I link it to my article?

http://ex-illis.com/wikipl/index.php?ti ... amespace=4

I would like to link the pictures to this article:

http://ex-illis.com/wikipl/Scottish_Army

I guess it wouldn't hurt to have the pictures show up in other categories to

I saw your picture, you just have to add this code in your page
[[File:Brushna Primes right hand man.JPG|200px|thumb|left|The terrible great Yetis from the Highlands come down from the mountains to assist the low born]]

You can use preview to chose correct location where you want the picture to appear,
change the descriptive text if you want,
If you want the image at right, change the term left in the code by the term right,
If you think the image is too small, change 200px for 250px, 300px or anything else,
Try to change all these variables, it's the best way to learn how the code react to modifications.

First, you have done well my friend. Your picture is in the wiki and your scottish army is to be known by everyone. Now the last step... how to merge the two.

Sorry, my english is not so good. You can't create a link on your picture, you have to insert your picture in the text by adding the picturecode on the edit page of your text.

I understand your frustration so, to overcome the language barrier, I edited your text by adding the image.
http://ex-illis.com/wikipl/Scottish_Army
Look where I put the code, you can move it by using the text as a spatial reference or change its variables. The important thing is to keep the spelling of the code.
Here in red, the variables you can change.

[[File:Brushna Primes right hand man.JPG|200px|thumb|left|Terrible great Yetis from Highlands come down from the mountains to assist the low born]]

200 is the size of the image
left is the position of the image (could be chaged by right or center)
the rest is a description of the image (why you refer at this picture in your story)
DON'T erase the tiny vertical bar between elements

For the next picture, copy/paste this code and replace
File:Brushna Primes right hand man.JPG
by the name of the next picture (this name always beggin with File:)

If something goes wrong, erase the picture's code on your text page and copy paste the one I created here for you. 99% of the time it's a mispelling somewhere.

BtW, every times you'll insert the picture's code in a wiki page, your picture will show off. One upload for all you want pages. The code will always refer to your picture.

EDIT: I hope you'll forgive me, I added the categories in the bottom of your pages to be sure your page wouldn't be lost in the NoLinksLand.

8-) thank you so much for your help. 8-) This will help me put pictures and articles. I appreciate you helping me and hopefully after a time or two I will be able to do it myself.

Actually what I was hoping to be able to do was to create a blue link so when I mentioned the unit in the article you could click on the name in blue and see a picture of it just like it is on the main page of wiki do you know to do that?

There's two easy ways :
the first one is to copy/paste the link of the page you want to redirect between this symbol [ (I don't know how is named hooks/braces ?), then leave one space and write the text you want to be clickable. You have to double the "hook symbol" like this:

[[http://ex-illis.com/wikien/Decurion Decurion]]

it'll apears in the wiki as Decurion

The second is to add a link to a page you want to create. Just frame the title with the hooks like this:

This brought Him instant fame and he was called the [[Mad Rabbi]] from that day forward

Then click on the link you just have created and edit this page. Each time you'll use this exact spelling, you could use the hooks to create a link between two pages.

BE SURE each time you want to insert something somewhere to frame him with [[double hooks]]
PS: it's why the picture of Mad Rabbi doesn't appear on the JewishArmy page: missed the two last hooks
